The fourth toe on my left foot gets sore. It cramps sometimes down into the ball of my foot, sometimes farther. If I step wrong, it almost feels like the foot muscles are splitting, separating, between my third and fourth toes. Not a good feeling.
I know how to slacken the toe spasms, folding it in on itself for 2 minutes to release the spasm and the pain.
But they come back. Why?
What is my toe telling me?
Approaching it with curiosity, I’ve found my toe hurts when my weight is shifted to the outer edge of my foot; when my knees and feet turn out; when my outer hip s are working hard an my inner thighs are hardly working.
When I bring my legs parallel, keep my weight centered over the balls of my feet, the toe pain goes away and stays away.
My toe pain was the symptom of the imbalances in my hips.
Too often we treat the symptom without ever looking for the cause.
