Why did you become a pain specialist?
My specialty grows from my experience. One summer morning when I was twelve, I awoke to searing pain in my neck. I couldn’t turn my head to the left. I had never felt such pain. I was petrified!
I have felt that same pain many times since, when a neck bone shifts out of line and the muscles seize in response. But what I remember most now is the fear. Pain is scary.
I started chiropractic care that year. Fast forward through 30-odd years of neck pain, jaw surgery, stress and anxiety [read more…], a bad fall [read more…], a serious car accident, pregnancy, back labor, the aches and pains of parenting and aging. I’ve done physical therapy, cranio-sacral therapy, acupuncture, cortisone shots, yoga and varied exercise regimes, including full periods of forced inactivity to allow my overstressed joints some relief.
My neck still gets sore, but I now know how to release the pain. These tools put my care in my own hands. I can show you how to do the same.
The tools afforded me by Integrated Positional Therapy, yoga, Reiki, and mindful living bring balance to my life. Approaching life from a place of comfort and ease, I’m healthier, more productive, and much more fun to be around! By taking better care of myself, I better care for others. My son, my hubby, my friends and family and community benefit.
As a result, have dedicated my career to help people cultivate comfort in their bodies and ease in their lives. I love to share these tools with others who are ready to replace pain with vibrant living.
How did you discover the tools you use now?
A few years ago, a friend returned from a nearby retreat center and shared, “I met a guy who may have the answer for your neck.” So I made an appointment with Lee Albert for Integrated Positional Therapy. I felt immediate relief, not only in my neck, but all my sore spots.
Following Lee’s advice at home, I did maintain the comfort he helped me find. So, I booked my hubby with Lee, too. A week before his appointment, we had a serious car accident, rolling off the interstate and landing upside down in a ditch. The car was totaled and we were deeply shaken. I made myself another appointment with Lee immediately following my husband’s.
I truly credit receiving Integrated Positional Therapy bodywork with the fact that neither of us has had any adverse effects from the accident.
It was enough to move me from believer to practitioner. That fall, I began training with Lee. In October, 2017, after 300 hours of study, I was certified as an Integrated Positional Therapy Professional in the Albert Protocol for Muscle Pain Relief.
